Volunteer Reception Assistant

Reception Assistants have a vital role in helping to ensure that visitors and the public receive a warm and friendly welcome. Appropriate information should be given to ensure visitors and the public fully enjoy their visit and can access suitable tours and make use of both the shop and cafe whilst they are at the House. You will be familiar with the operating of the house, able to take enquiries and direct visitors to appropriate members of staff. The role is varied and may include assisting in the shop or cafe at times of peak demand. You will often be the first point of contact for people either visiting or telephoning and you will represent Plas Llanelly House, providing the best possible service whilst being part of a highly committed, flexible team.

Volunteer Welcome Assistant

Welcome Assistants have a vital role in helping to ensure that visitors and the public receive a warm and friendly welcome. You will provide visitors with information that will allow them to access the range of facilities on offer. You will answer any immediate questions, help them orientate themselves and generally give them information to ensure they have a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable visit. The role is varied and may include assisting in the shop or cafe at times of peak demand. You will often be the first point of contact for people visiting or making enquiries about what the House has to offer. You will represent Plas Llanelly House, providing the best possible service whilst being part of a highly committed, flexible team.

Volunteer House Steward

House Stewards have a vital role in helping to ensure that visitors and the public fully enjoy their visit and the inspiring and enjoyable tours, helping groups to learn more about the place they are visiting. They will bring the House to life for visitors and answer any questions they may have. The House Stewards are pivotal to the promotion of the House as a high quality visitor attraction and ensuring that visitors have the opportunity to access and enjoy the shop and cafe. Particular emphasis is placed on this role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment. You will represent Plas Llanelly House, providing the best possible service whilst being part of a highly committed, flexible team.

Volunteer Tour Guide

Tour Guides have a vital role to play in delivering inspiring and enjoyable tours, helping groups to learn more about the place they are visiting. They will bring the House to life for visitors and answer any questions they may have. The Tour Guides are pivotal to the promotion of the House as a high quality visitor attraction and ensuring that visitors have the opportunity to access and enjoy the shop and cafe. You will represent Plas Llanelly House, providing the best possible service whilst being part of a highly committed, flexible team.

Volunteer Catering Assistant

Catering Assistants have a vital role in helping to ensure that visitors and the public receive a warm and friendly welcome. You will provide visitors with information that will allow them to access the wide range of high quality food and beverage on offer. You will assist on the counter and provide service in both the cafe and to the outside tables. The role is varied and you will be encouraged to prepare basic menu items for sale and provide feedback as appropriate on customer satisfaction. Opportunities will be provided to increase your skills and to work on prestigious functions and special events. The customers experience will influenced by the cleanliness of the environment and the speed of service, both of which are key to the role. You will often be the first point of contact for people visiting or making enquiries about offers at the House. You will represent Plas Llanelly House, providing the best possible service whilst being part of a highly committed, flexible team.

Volunteer Retail Assistant

You will be providing invaluable help with the running of the shop, keeping it stocked and attractively displayed. You can get involved as much or as little as you like by: sorting out stock; helping with shop displays; getting EPOS trained in order to serve customers at the till. You will represent Plas Llanelly House, providing the best possible service whilst being part of a highly committed, flexible team in order to offer a quality retail space serving visitors, local community and raising as much money as possible for the organisation.

Volunteer Genealogy Assistant

Genealogy assistants have a vital role in helping to ensure that visitors and the public receive a warm and friendly welcome. You will provide visitors with the information that will allow them to access both the interactive digital elements of the house tour and enable them to undertake specific genealogy searches pertinent to their needs. You will be confident to guide a range of visitors including children, older people, those with disability, all of whom will have varying degrees of ability and knowledge, to access information relating to their ancestry search. You may often be the first point of contact for people visiting or making enquiries about offers at the House. You will represent Plas Llanelly House, providing the best possible service whilst being part of a highly committed, flexible team.

Llanelly House is over 300 years old and some floors are uneven and staircases steep – please contact our team to ensure your specific needs and requirements are met. Llanelly House has a lift onsite to ensure full accessibility to all floors.
